Architect Patrick Partouche designed this two level 240m2 house in 2010. Constructed by Progeco Dunkirk with the use of 8 recycled shipping containers, and with the use of terracotta, metal, wood, polycarbonate and glass, this building stands in real contrast to its more rural surroundings. (more…)
Arthur Carvalho a real estate business and project manager from Guimarães, Portugal has put together this clever recycled multiple use shipping container project at his family’s country estate – Quinta da Cancela 1720.
Five years ago, Arthur took over the management of Estate, and undertook a number of initiatives that included the restoration of a 1720’s farmhouse, the further development of their rural tourism project and of course producing wine. It soon became evident that the Estate would need more storage, so an idea that had incubated for Arthur for over 10 years came to fruition. (more…)

This two level shipping container home is certainly minimalistic in its approach, with the building composed of two containers perpendicular to each other. The upper container provides a projecting roof above the entrance as well as serves to shelter the back terrace. The ceiling of the bottom container is also a terrace of the first floor. (more…)
